Vintage American Character
USA cartoon characters, vintage items, toys popular in Japan, so I can bring some figurines, etc. as gifts?
When I go to Japan I see old American toys, Happy Meal figures, uniforms from fast food restaurants, etc. on sale in collectors’ shops and being prized by teens and the college crowd. I’d like to send some of these items, which are easy for me to find at garage sales, to my Japanese friends. Can anyone tell me more, or refer me to a web site where I can find out what sort of retro items, cartoon characters, vintage fashions, etc. are currently popular in Japan. One friend says that she’s noticed that some young girls like Care Bears. Any other ideas? Thanks!
The Care Bears might be Teddy bear. It is poplar for many Japanese girls.

In Japan, the tin toys made before World War II are very precious, because the most of metals in Japan were changed to made into the weapons.
